This past weekend I went shopping in Georgetown for some much-needed retail therapy. I wanted to have a chance to try on some things before all of the crazy Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales hit this week (a lot of them even started on Tuesday! Sheesh, let’s get through Thanksgiving first!). I love to read other blogger’s Dressing Room Diaries so I thought I’d round up some of my favorites for you guys!
They’re offering 40% off your purchase for the next few days with the code THANKU
This ruffle top in festive plaid is so perfect for Christmas! I wasn’t sure how I felt about it when I was trying it on but I kind of love how it looks in this picture. This would be perfect for casual holiday get-togethers!
This is the Embellished Cable Sweater from J. Crew. I loved this, it was so cozy and the little ruffle gave it a nice feminine and girly feel without being too overwhelming. They didn’t have a small in the stores so I’m wearing a medium here but since it has a boxy fit I think I would go for the small.
(Also, I’m wearing my leopard flats from LL Bean in these photos. They’re not available anymore but there are similar ones here and here!)
This is the velvet peplum top from J. Crew. I love the look of peplum tops but don’t always like the look of them on me. That wasn’t a problem with this one! I think it’s so cute and it fit me perfectly. The only velvet part of it is the little ruffle at the bottom. (Also ignore my weird no teeth smile- I can never look normal when I try to do that!)
I’m finally jumping on-board the flared sleeve trend with the Merino V-neck sweater with drawstring sleeves. I love the pretty cream color and it will be the perfect winter white for dreary January days!

Here I am in Loft’s tweed pocket jogger skirt and the textured floral mixed media sweater. The skirt has a drawstring and is super comfy, but it also looks so pulled-together, which is my favorite combination. I just grabbed the sweater on a whim but it was such a cute basic! The details on the sleeve give it just enough pizazz!
I loved this chevron zip pocket skirt in this pretty purple/ pinkish color! It has a little chevron pattern on it if you look closely. Such a classic and I know I’ll wear it a ton to work.
I’m always on the lookout for some nice work pants and so I tried on these Skinny Ankle Pants in the Marisa Fit. I really liked the way they looked! I felt like my normal size was a bit too baggy so I sized down. It made for a snugger fit but I think it made the pants look much better.
This is the Scroll Jacquard Bell Sleeve Dress from Loft. I love the classic Victorian pattern going on here and you could easily wear this to the office and then out for drinks after without feeling too stuffy.
Everything is 25% off with the code DONTSTRESS
I absolutely love this windowpane turtleneck sweater! It has a boxy fit so I’m wearing an XS. I love the windowpane pattern. It’s such a fun, modern take on traditional plaid.
I adore sweater dresses, and the cute little bows on the tie-cuff sweater dress is perfection!
This plaid tiered button-back top was probably my favorite thing that I tried on! It is a classic Christmas look that is so perfect for the Holiday season. I’m definitely going to be getting this to wear over the next month!
Also, I’m wearing Madewell’s 9″ high-rise skinny jeans in black sea. I bought a pair of Madewell jean shorts this year and fell in love, so I was eager to try on their jeans. And I absolutely loved them and how soft they were!
How cool is this sycamore stripe pullover sweater? It’s so cozy and would be perfect for a chill Sunday brunch or a cozy night in. I love the color block trend and stripes and this is like the perfect combination of both!
With so many great picks it’s going to be hard to narrow it down for Christmas shopping! Thank goodness for those sales! 😉
