We spent the third day of our cruise in Nice and Monaco. I absolutely loved the South of France. This was my first time there, and it completely captivated me. It was stunning, and the water was so blue, and the towns so gorgeous. You can see why the French call it the Côte d'Azur (the literal translation is something like "the bright blue coast")! Like our last port, Portofino, we had to take . . .
It may be September now, but I'm not putting away my seersucker dresses just yet! As you can see, I'm still holding on to summer over here for as long as I can! While it seems like so many stores (and bloggers!) have jumped headfirst into fall, I'm still savoring the last few weeks of warm weather. There will be plenty of time for apple-picking, pumpkin spice lattes, and flannel later on, . . .
We spent the second day of our cruise through Italy, France, and Spain in beautiful Portofino and Cinque Terre. It was just as stunning as you would imagine! But oh my goodness, was it a crazy travel day to see it all. We took 4 (!!) boat rides, 2 bus rides, and 2 train rides before the day was over. But then you take one look at one of those gorgeous seaside views, and you realize that it was all . . .
I decided to start a new little feature on the blog, called the Friday Five. It will just be a little link-up of things that have made me think, smile, or are just on my mind. So without further ado, here's my first Friday Five! Friday Five San Francisco- I'm going to spend the weekend in SF, and I'm so excited to get away for a few days. But really I'm most excited to get to see Michael, . . .
I am finally getting around to recapping the amazing trip I took with my family to Europe at the end of July! We took a cruise through Italy, France, and Spain on Celebrity Cruises and it was absolutely amazing, completely restorative, and so much fun! I still am shocked at the amount of ground we were able to cover in only 9 days! Because I spent each day in a totally new and different . . .
I just spent the most lovely Saturday night wandering around Annapolis and eating the most incredible food. I'm trying to wear all my summery dresses while I still can, so I pulled out one of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer dresses. I love anything pink, and this pattern is bright and colorful without being too overwhelming. Speaking of Lilly, Monday is the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale! . . .
It's the time of year when Biglaw firms are all conducting their callback interviews. Callbacks typically take place after on-campus interviews, and are kind of a second-round in the interviewing process. For me, and other associates, that means a lot of free lunches with interview candidates, which is pretty awesome. But for rising 2Ls, it can be a stress-filled few weeks of awkward conversations . . .
Annapolis is one of my favorite places. It's a super easy day trip from DC (just about an hour), but it feels like a world away. It has the most adorable little downtown right along the harbor, the best crab cakes, and lots of cute little stores to explore. (Wearing - Top: Old Navy, Shorts: J. Crew, Purse: Kate Spade, Shoes: Jack Rogers, Sunnies: Ray-ban ) If you go down to . . .
A lot of people wonder whether they should go to law school. And here's a secret-- a lot of lawyers wonder whether they made the right choice by going to law school. To make sure you don't end up in the latter group, and put in all that time and money only to find yourself three years older (with a lot more debt), still no closer to finding a career you'll enjoy, you really need to . . .
