The first stop on our trip was a quick weekend in London. London has our heart. It’s the only city I could honestly see myself picking up and moving to happily. There’s just something about the British manners, the accents, the royals, the wonderfully clean Tube system… I could go on. Luckily Prince Harry is still single so I have another shot of snagging a prince 😉 Because we’d been lucky enough to spend some time here before, this time we were looking forward to hitting up some new sights, while of course seeing some of our can’t-miss favorites!
Walking along the Thames.

Beautiful Chihuly sculpture inside the Victoria and Albert Museum. We only had time for a brief visit, but got a chance to check out their awesome wardrobe collection tracing back fashion in London. They had some gorgeous dresses that looked right out of Downton Abbey!

Portobello Road Market! Reminded me of Bedknobs and Broomsticks 🙂
Kensington.
View of the Tate Modern at night. After taking a class on modern art last semester I thought I’d be able to better appreciate and understand some of the art in there…. Let’s just say some of it is still a mystery to me. (I thought an air-conditioning grate on the ground was part of the exhibit for a second. Nope, just an air-conditioning vent.)

The Tower of London! The Crown Jewels, The Bloody Tower, site of numerous executions– way too exciting to miss!
Of course we couldn’t miss a trip aboard the London Eye! I kind of think every major city should have a huge ferris wheel ride in the center of it. It would just make everything more fun, right?
Parliament and Big Ben from the London Eye. Something about being up at that height looking over London reminds me a Peter Pan soaring over the city. A girl can dream, right?
Ah London. So beautiful, so clean, so royal!! What’s not to love? Now if only the Royal baby will arrive so I can start obsessing over that!
